I am a propulsion engineer at Vast Space on the E-2 development team. I am the responsible engineer for the E-2 oxidizer pump and turbine power unit. My experience comes from the rocket team at CU Boulder and from my 3 years as an intern for Launcher Space (a Vast Company). E-2 is a RP1/LOX oxygen rich staged combustion rocket engine. E-2 is most known for its atypical blue flame for a kerosene engine. E-2 nominally produces 22 klbf with 100 bar chamber pressure. E-2 will provide the highest efficiency of its class for small launch vehicles. |
